I am actually useless sometimes!

I am legit so unbelievably bad at updating here, it is ridiculous! But I have been completely bogged under with uni work, we only have one week left so it's a mad sprint to get all my assignments finished on time! Dissertations are not my idea of fun, that I can promise.

On top of this I am still working 40 hours a week and trying to fit in my social life so writing has been put on the back burner for now. I do promise to be more consistent in a couple of weeks when deadlines and exams are just ghosts of the past and I have a whole new chapter of my life to look forward to! I have several things planned on here so stay tuned!

On another note i just turned 22 this week, huzzah! I'm officially an adult! Scary biscuits! My lovely work girls took me for a day of shopping and cocktails in the city, it was fabulous. I hate organising events for birthdays as I feel like I'm forcing my friends to have fun, so it was much more enjoyable to chill and just choose what we were doing as the day went along.

Friday was yet another super exciting day with our uni's End of Year Ball. The food was amazing, drinks were flowing and the banter was perfect. I had such a blast and loved getting all dressed up to play, although it sort of made me realise just how little time we have left! Cue the stress! Here's a little close of myself from the night. I felt like Christina Hendricks on Mad Men in my dress, I just adored it!

That's basically everything for now but like I said, I promise to organise more on here when I get my freedom back!!

Spray away the stress!

It happens every semester without fail. It's the first day back to university after a well deserved break, and I now have 3 weeks until I graduate! 3 weeks to complete all my final assignments, presentations and dissertation whilst trying to maintain a full time job, and spend time with my boyfriend, friends and family. PHEW!

As a self confessed emotional shopper, (and honestly, any emotion will suffice), I felt my feet drawing me to Debenhams department store to spend away the negative thoughts about rapidly looming deadlines. I must admit, there is nothing I love more than spending time at various beauty counters, chatting away to the sales advisors and testing anything and everything I can get my little mitts on! I am a sucker for a pretty product, the intoxicating smell of perfume radiating through the store is enough to make my heart SWELL for new lotions and potions to lather myself in.

Coming from a town with a poorly stocked Debenhams, I am like a child at Christmas when I'm back in the city for classes and get to blow all my money on products I can't get at home, although it does my bank balance little favours!

I have been addicted to anything and everything Vivienne Westwood since I was around 16 and simply had to invest in a new perfume, even though I'm normally a Miss Dior Cherie girl all year round! After plenty of sniffing and spraying I settled for "Cheeky Alice", as I loved the packaging and branding and at first glance the scent reminded me of Gucci Guilty, another former favourite.

I'm no perfume expert, but I loved the initial strong musky scents from Cheeky Alice, which then soften into lovely floral notes. It's a fabulous everyday perfume and for some unknown reason, reminds me of late nights on holidays in lovely hot climates, then again that's maybe just the dreamer in me! The bottle itself is adorable, and comes with the usual wearable charm round the neck of the bottle which is a lovely touch, although I am anal about my perfume bottles and like to leave them as they are, bracelet intact!

As much as I adore this perfume and will most definitely re-buy once I have used it, I would prefer this Alice to have spicier notes along with the florals, as I don't quite feel it is "Cheeky" enough for me. I would like it to be a bit more bold and daring, maybe even a tad vampish for the evenings, than the girly florals will allow.
Having said this, perfumes are obviously different for every wearer and this little number is worth a try the next time you happen to be swinging by the perfume counter :)

I would also like to note the adorable lady that served me today, who gave me a gorgeous VW makeup case even though I technically didn't qualify for it. You had to spend over £50 on Vivienne Westwood fragrances, which I didn't, but I had bought several other items to well over £100. I then ended up chatting to her for a good half hour and got a load of little perfume samples! HUZZAH! Not only is it the perfect size for  my fave nail varnishes, it is also LAVENDER! One of my absolute favourite colours this season! RESULT! It pays to chat to these girls I promise!

I hope to get posting about the various other goodies I snapped up today, but want to get a good bit of use out of them first, I'm very picky with my skin products :D

What do you dearies think of Cheeky Alice? Have you tried it, or do you prefer other perfumes from the Alice range? I'd love to hear from you!

Blowing away the dust

After a 3 year hiatus and deleting all that I previously had here. I finally decided to come back to this blog and share my writing again, even if it may just be for myself.

3 years has gone by in a flash, and much has changed, but more importantly, I feel like I've become comfortable with myself and happy with who I am instead of trying to mould myself to fit in somewhere I didn't actually want to be.

As a brief update since I was last here: I am most definitely fatter and happier, I have 2 months left until I graduate from university then get to relax in the sun for a few weeks. I am still with my wonderful boyfriend and working in a job I adore and am mother to my big beautiful fur baby Ozzy the boxer. There have been several new additions to my tattoos, I can finally drive, (although parking leaves much to be desired), and my once long hair is now above my shoulders (a gut wrenching moment, I can promise you!)

I hope to share my general views, opinions, and reviews on my many passions and products, keep you updated with my OOTD photos as a plus sized blogger, share new recipes I'm trying, and hopefully share my knowledge with anything from relationships and sex, beauty and skincare, or even plus size lingerie and fashion questions, (qualified bra measurer if you want to give it a random title).,

Come by, say hello or even let me know if there's anything you'd like to see.

As for now, it's sleepy time! (But have a cliched selfie nonetheless :p )
